"Wild Horses"這首歌可以說是滾石合唱團最美的一首抒情歌曲
至少我這麼認為。
在滾石合唱團許多與女人相關描述的歌曲裡，
大多是歌詞上較為腥色，而像"Wild Horses"這樣真誠又感性浪漫的歌曲，
算是比較少見。
在音樂形式上可以看到這首歌受到鄉村樂的影響，民謠吉他以憂鬱的曲調隨性彈奏，
並與鋼琴旋律相互唱合，曲子裡的和絃與旋律會讓你在生活中不經意的想起而哼唱起來，
這也讓歌曲能緊緊抓住聽眾的心，再加上有點傷感的藍調吉他SOLO，
都讓你對這首歌久久不忘，即使當時這首歌在商業上並不是相當成功，
在排行榜上只到達#28的，但這首歌在經典搖滾裡，已經有他相當重要的地位。
有人猜測這首歌的寫作背景，是Mick Jagger寫下
與Maria Fathfall分手時的心境，比照這首歌創作的時間與歌曲裡的內容，
其實好像真的是這個樣子，不過猜測畢竟只是猜測而已。
看看歌詞裡所描述的，可以感受到兩個人無法分離的愛，
但又有過去彼此傷害的痛存在，
彼此知道無法離開對方，但還是分手了，
歌詞裡反覆的

是不想離開的心境，
而到歌曲最後的
Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday
已經決定各奔前程。
這首歌也被翻唱了許多的版本，
大家最熟悉的包括Guns N Roses，Sheryl Crow，以及The Sundays，
其中我最喜歡的版本是The Sundays在The Blind專輯放在最後的這首
翻唱曲(台灣版的Blind專輯只有11首歌，缺這首Wild Horses)
不同的詮釋，一樣的傷感。
