如果我站在鏡子前 凝視自己
所看到的 將是個有著跟我一樣面孔的墮落英雄

國中的同班同學阿冠在逢甲唸書，大一的暑假
幾個國中同學就坐著車到台中找他，
準備隔天騎摩托車上溪頭 杉林溪玩

住在逢甲附近的宿舍
阿冠的室友Jimmy是個搖滾迷
在這待了一個晚上
認識了後來變大胖子的Yngwie Malmsteen
還有充滿野獸氣息的W.A.S.P

W.A.S.P 這樂團，認識的朋友裡幾乎沒有什麼在聽他的音樂
在樂評上沒有太高的評價，誇張的濃妝，血腥的表演
唱片驚悚的標題(如..Headless Children)，總是容易被歸為
L.A 出產的爛團之一
但在一票的金屬團裡自己卻相當喜歡他們的東西
樂團的靈魂人物Blackie Lawless可以包辦
吉他，Bass,鍵盤，主唱以及所有詞曲的創作
說是他的一人樂團也不為過
在那個年代，有好幾個樂團都有相同的背景，像是Cinderella亦是如此

W.A.S.P的音樂在旋律性上下了很大的功夫，即便是吵雜的快歌
還是可以兼顧到旋律性而不只是嘶喊
雙大鼓產生的壓迫感，與Blackie Lawless的歌聲
為W.A.S.P的音樂蒙上一層黑暗的神秘感

在經過前面幾張主題相當驚悚的專輯
1993年發行了一張完全概念性的專輯
The Crimson Idol，也是到目前我最喜歡的一張專輯
整張專輯的鋪陳，描述的是一個搖滾小子的發跡崛起
一直到成為眾所注目的偶像巨星
再因環境的迷惑 吸毒 頹廢 墮落
最後回歸到自我的內心變化

The Idol應該可以算是這張專輯的標題曲
仔細聽 你可以聽到古典吉他，民謠吉他，電吉他等三種吉他音色
如何在一首歌裡，完美的搭配，只是很可惜找到的MV前半部被截掉了

忘掉要成為有錢人的那份慾望吧
你所需要 最重要的是在你的心靈

Lynyrd Skynyrd 是在70年代中期相當經典的
南方搖滾樂團，
強烈的草根性質，主要是來自於樂團靈魂人物
Ronnie Van Zant的影響
Lynyrd Skynyrd音樂始終堅守在
藍調，搖滾與鄉村等音樂曲風的範疇內

1977年的一場空難，失去了主唱Ronnie Van Zant
與吉他手Steve Gaines，也留下了樂迷心裡萬般的遺憾

Simple Man這首歌，出現在1973年的首張專輯中
當然這首歌幾乎是在後來他們演唱會裡，很容易聽到的曲目
簡單的和絃進行，朗朗上口的旋律
歌詞裡透過媽媽告訴孩子的話
會讓你深受感動

演奏時看到休止符不要害怕 因為等一拍過後
音樂再起時 就是整個樂曲最精采的時候 -Streams in the Desert

在書上看到這段文字 覺得很棒
我們總會遇到許許多多的挫折
每次都好像 自己快要被擊倒
快要到了盡頭
就像是遇到休止符 以為音樂會就這樣 停下來
走過去了
才會聽到最美的音樂

Felt的New Day Dawning
放在Me and A Monkey on the Moon專輯裡
因為其他曲子太出色而讓你忽略了這首歌

在固定節奏的反覆的Riff裡
聽到的是主唱Lawrence一慣 低沉呢喃般的歌聲
整首歌像是壓在一個密閉空間裡
等到音樂停止，鼓聲敲開你心裡的那扇門
後段的電吉他獨奏 才是這首歌 最精采的地方

最近特別想聽藍調搖滾
接在昨天的Long Cold Winter後，
今天來聽The Black Crowes的作品

在90年代同期的搖滾樂團裡，
Black Crowes是相當特別的一個樂團
在那個Heavy Metal逐漸沒落，
代表著Modern Rock的西雅圖之音正要興起的年代
The Black Crowes做的是道地的美國草根南方搖滾
主唱相當復古的唱腔，吉他有些吵雜又厚實的音色
再加上背景合聲，都讓這樂團獨樹一格

這首Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye
是自己很喜歡的一首曲子
從前奏開始的幾個電吉他推弦，就可以嗅到濃濃的藍調
主唱的聲音恰如其分，而電吉他的演奏，
則是對這首歌最喜歡的部分
歌曲後段編曲裡用到的大量合聲
又讓你感受到美國南方的的味道

陰雨綿綿的早上
總讓人心情就像是天氣一樣的灰暗

不喜歡這樣的天氣，讓人感到落寞與憂鬱
放假前夕，卻也感受不到一些歡樂的氣息

Cinderella的Long Cold Winter
如同唱片封面一樣的雪白
音樂裡的冷冽
像是站在北國的雪地裡
寒風刺骨，
藍調吉他的Solo與主唱無可取代的高亢歌聲，也造就了這首
Cinderella的經典樂曲

Days of Summer-夏日

搭上8點的車
趕在颱風到達之前出發
我在這往南開的路上
高速公路上是一片漆黑
一路上是的風和雨
隔著車窗，只有耳機裡的音樂與螢幕上沒有聲音的電影

十月的台北，夏天已經漸漸走遠，
在Topas的音樂裡，又帶你到那一望無際的夏日海邊

Topas黃玉合唱團，典型的歐洲樂團，
旋律性極佳，印象中只發過一張專輯，
僅此一張卻像一張精選輯般，沒有一首歌讓你覺得多餘
在台灣因為一支沙士廣告使用了Days of Summer而讓大家對這首歌
相當熟悉，但對於Topas這樂團卻相當陌生
在一些民謠吉他樂譜裡很容易可以找到
雙吉他演奏的Days of Summer與From Coast to Coast這兩首歌
專輯裡另外一首Alasca
旋律與合聲又可以帶你到另一個夢幻國度

Steve Vai是自己崇拜的第一個吉他英雄
也因為如此，手上的兩把吉他都是Ibanez的琴
1990年發行的 Passion and Warfare專輯
讓這把七弦琴與搖桿發出了你無法想像的電吉他聲音
像是風鈴在微風中輕輕作響
像是小嬰孩的喃喃笑聲
還有像是要用聲音來擁抱這大地的溫暖
